Teams and seats
Buy Pro seats for an organisation — same price as individual Pro, five-seat minimum — so every member is Pro automatically.
A team subscription gives every member of your organisation DiffGuardian Pro. There are no license keys to hand out and no per-person setup: membership is the license.
Team is not a separate plan with its own feature set. It is exactly Pro, bought centrally per seat — the desktop app knows only Basic and Pro, and a seated member simply resolves to Pro.
#How it works
- An admin creates an organisation.
- The admin buys N Pro seats for it.
- Anyone who is a member of that organisation resolves to Pro — in the desktop app, automatically, with nothing to activate.
- Removing a member frees their seat immediately.
Members do not need to do anything. A developer who joins the organisation simply finds that Pro features are available the next time the app refreshes their plan.
#Setting it up
Go to the team page while signed in.
#1. Create your organisation
If you do not have one yet, create it from the team page. You become its admin and can invite the rest of the team by email. If you already have an organisation, use Manage organisation to add and remove members, change roles, and revoke access.
#2. Buy Pro seats
Choose the number of seats — a minimum of 5, up to 500 — and continue to Stripe Checkout. Seats are billed at the same price as individual Pro: $8 per seat per month, or $80 per seat per year. Ten seats on the monthly cadence is ten times $8, and nothing else; there is no separate team rate and no bundled block of seats.
The five-seat floor is applied by the server, not just by the seat stepper on the page, so a smaller purchase is refused rather than half-created.
Only an organisation admin can purchase or manage seats. Members see the roster controls but not the billing controls.
#Managing seats afterwards
Manage billing and seats opens the Stripe billing portal for the organisation, where an admin can change the seat count, update the card, or cancel.
Your seat count is also the organisation's member cap: DiffGuardian keeps the two in sync, so invitations beyond your purchased seats are refused rather than silently going unbilled. Buy more seats first, then invite.
#Subscription states
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
active | Seats are paid for. Every member is Pro. |
past_due | A payment failed and is being retried. Fix the card in the billing portal. |
canceled | The subscription has ended. Members fall back to their own plan. |
#Personal Pro alongside a team
The two do not conflict. Your effective plan is the higher of your own subscription and any Pro granted by a team you belong to — so a member with personal Pro who joins a team is simply Pro, and cancelling their personal subscription costs them nothing while the team seat holds.
